Upendra Tripathy's promotion

Hi narayan82,

Yes, i was thinking the same thing. It is indeed good that Shri Upendra Tripathy has been given the post of Secretary, Department of Transport. This is indeed good since Shri Tripathy can stand on his laurels and do much more for Bengaluru w.r.t urban transportation. Shri Tripathy's valuable experience in making BMTC the most profitable urban transport corporation in the country will help in making transportation better in Bengaluru.

narayan. source? this is significant. i am guessing transport is ksrtc + bmtc. perhaps now murali sir can lobby directly, when tripathy's dharma now is overall transport and not individualized to a mode-bmtc. but this also means we have to watch the new sec for bmtc and rework the WG thingie. but thats ok. thats par for these types of courses. metro is another thingie. there the issues and problems are at another level only. who is this new sec for that?

Just went through the KAS/IAS transfers: Mr Tripathy seems to have changed positions to principle secr. of Transport - I assume this is for the better? The new person at Namma Metro Prev. worked in the Excise Dept - does he have any valuable experience he brings along? Or is this just the govt. trying to show power?

Ts - Here it is. Its also in all the other papers will try and get a soft copy of the complete list its in today's Bangalore Mirror.

Metro has always been jinxed. Before Madhu was a very pro-active person (I think it was Srivastav) who use to work very closely with E Sreedharan. Then after the launch of the Metro logo - to which HDK was not called - Mr Srivastav got "transferred." Madhu was doing well, now I have my doubts about the new person.
