BMLTA Public Meeting

For better planning of all land-based urban transport projects, the State government could soon accord legal sanction to the Bangalore Metropolitan Land Transport Authority (BMLTA) by enacting an act for this purpose.
This move will facilitate a unified agency on the lines of Land Transport Authority of Singapore or Metropolitan Transport Authority of New York, a long-pending demand of urban transportation planners and experts.
A public meeting will be called for on February 20 to invite suggestions.
Public can access the draft of Act on the websites www.urbantransport.kar.gov.in and www.bmlta.org. They may register through e-mail dultbangalore@gmail.com. Or write to Director, Directorate of Urban Land Transport, Room No 504, 5th Floor, 4th Gate, M S Building, Bangalore – 560001 by Feb 15 to attend meeting.
Time: 3 PM IST
Venue: Institute of Town Planning,
Ambedkar Veedhi (Behind Amedkar Bhavan), Vasanth Nagar, Bangalore.

It would be nice, a group from Praja attends this meeting and make some contacts in BMLTA. This meetings needs prior registration via email. I will take care of that.

There should be a couple of people from Praja attanding. I got a sense of this when we met last week at Freedom Park.
And yes, I am attending. I have registered via email. I am hoping that the time and venue will be communicated early enough to plan the rest of my day!!
