BMRCL is buoyed by the approvals they have received for ph II implementation that they have gove ahead to plan for ph III by initiating the study with RITES.

So its a tale of two roads where tar is being relaid in our city now..

• Double road/KH road which has a new coat of tar
• Mysore road flyover where the road is being relaid

KH road work started last week and a nice thick coat of tar is already laid. However the Mysore road flover work started 2 weeks ago and is not half done yet!

Hyderabad MMTS Experience

Had been to Hyderabad over the weekend to attend a wedding. Wanted to explore MMTS utilizing this. Reached Kachiguda on Friday morning at around 8:20 am in Bangalore - Kachiguda Express. Had done little work on the net on how to reach Miyapuram using MMTS to save both time and money.  Found Hafeezpet is the nearest MMTS railway station and there is an MMTS train every 30 minutes.

Bicycles on BMTC

One of the biggest hits of the first cycle day amongst people was BMTC allowing people to carry cycles to cycle day in their buses. Lots of people liked it. We even communicated the same to BMTC. We had hopes of getting them to repeat it and also extend it to non cycle day days. Instead they pulled out of this committment.

Cycling down Nanda Main Road - partially

In May 2008 I had walked down Nanda Main Road from 45th cross (Ring Road) to South End Signal and back documenting through pictures the trees that formed the boulevard. I had, like many others, assumed that many trees were likely to be extensively trimmed, if not cut down completely.
