The city is desperately in need of some additional form of mass transport system to feed the Metro. The choice is essentially between Monorail, LRT or BRT. Some of us believe that a surface LRT is suitable for Bangalore, & that it can assist in reducing street congestion. |

Huge rally - no jams. When was the last time THAT happened! deepakar - 1-MAR-2009
We spend a lot of words pointing out what's not working. I thought I'll mention something that the authorities got right this time. There was a huge anti-terrorism rally on a workday bang in the centre of the city and the traffic was still flowing pretty freely. For what it's worth I wanted to hail the folks who planned and managed this event. Kudos to Mr. Praveen Sood and Mr. Shankar Bidari I guess! |

illegal property tax collection by non existing CMCs ssr - 28-FEB-2009
BBMP has come out with notification to demand property tax from citizens of bangalore, for the current year. However when the citizens in the newly added areas approach the help centres identified for the collection of taxes, they are compelled to pay the arrear taxes due to erstwhile CMC, which is no more existing. |

Old pedestrian subways neglected by BBMP? Richa.Dhodi - 28-FEB-2009
With the coming up of new subways in Bangalore city ,the maintance on old subways are not been neglected? Who will look at the condition of the present subways like the ones at KR Market and Majestic? Does BBMP doing sufficient work for the maintenance of the subways present at the KR Market and Majestic? So don't you feel that the authority is lacking its duty? |

BY Richa Dhodi BANGALORE: The newly-built subways on Nrupatunga Road, laid by the city corporation, are proving to be useful to the citizens of Bangalore. The second of the three pedestrian subways to be constructed on Nrupathunga road opposite St. Martha's hospital was laid on Sunday. Work on the third is to begin shortly. |
