There is an interesting news in Deccan Chronicle about the BIAL mess. According to this report, the reluctance on part of the private partners to infuse additional Rs. 200 crores, led to the inadequate facilities at BIA. Courtesy - Deccan Chronicle |

Its not uncommon that we get to read articles like this (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Cities/Bangalore/Open_drain_claims_kids_life/articleshow/3524384.cms) on open drain deaths. |

I was supremely disappointed on reading this story in today's Deccan Chronicle. A quid pro quo with Bangalore for an elevated metro was to have good looking stations. Now we are going to get eyesores up in the sky, and are not even sure if there will be basic ameneties like lifts and escalators. |
How well the email ids of BBMP work! balu036 - 24-SEP-2008
Bangalore is the silicon city of India atleast in terms of the revenue it generates from software exports. In such a city, the authority responsible for maintaining the city infrastructure has to have functional email ids and its officers should regularly access to find out if there are any complaints from the citizens. This is important because in today's busy world, very few can give a complaint physically. |

10-yr old Sri Shirdi Sai Baba temple near Magadi Road is facing a threat of demolition by the BBMP. While the civic agency is backing the decision, saying the temple violates provisions of the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act, temple authorities allege that their neighbour - wife of a high court judge - influenced the move. |

BBMPs Chikungunya/Dengue mosquito breeding centre in Indiranagar balu036 - 23-SEP-2008
The attached video is of a Chikungunya/ Dengue Mosquitos breeding centre at 14th Cross, Indiranagar 2nd Stage, Bangalore 560038, which is flourishing thanks to the laxity of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (the authority in charge of ensuring public health and drainage maintenance). Water stagnates in this drain and no action is taken to clear its choking. Now it has become a breeding place for mosiqutos. Chikungunya has broken out in Karnataka and it seems BBMP is only facilitating spreading of such diseases. |
