BMTC and Airindia SATS/Air Deccan have tied up at BIAL to ferry passengers in the Low Floor Red Volvos from the gates to the airplane. I don't get it! The volvos in the city are going packed, the frequency is less than what i can/should be - why can't these busses run on the road instead. To me these busses are a much needed addition to the existing public transport. For the 2 Min ride from the Gate to the Plane, we dont need to use this "fancy" bus! Or we can get a Sutlej or a Tata-Globus/eicher/swaraj mazda for the airport! |

Privatization - Can It improve Transport /Power /Water Supply ? Naveen - 27-MAY-2008
Should BMTC, BWSSB & KPTC be privatizied ? Will such a move improve services & benefit citizens in the years ahead ? When will it be a good time to think of privatizing these entities ? Are we happy with their services as they are ? If not, are there ways to improve them without privatization ? Are there successful examples of such privatization ?

On Sunday evening, I thought I would observe the BMTC service to BIAL (called BIAS-Bangalore International Airport Service) from Trinity Circle. I had no intention of traveling to the airport, -I just wanted to know how reliable and convenient the buses were. |

The Belandur-ORR intersection has become completely unmanageable. The ORR + 2 service roads intersect with the traffic from Belandur. So, this is not a 4-way intersection but a 12-way intersection at the very least. |

But still, there are doubts about the sustainability of its govt., because of the million and one things that can go wrong. Those calculations are beyond my depth. But hoping that this govt. will last a considerable period of time, what are your expectations from the government, irrespective of whether you voted for it nor not?
