Sky-walk, literally

The BBMP, it would appear, likes to impart literal meaning to the term sky-walk. This set (pictures below), coming up at the High Grounds junction (facing the Sophia school, and behind Basava Bhavan), has a ground clearance enough for a BMTC bus to pass under, even with a full grown adult standing erect on top.

What is this MUSS Maintenance Outage?

I was reading the news paper this morning. As is common in the weekend, there was this regular headline which went like "Power Shutdown in Several Areas Today". The article went on to say that due to 66/11 kV "C" Station Maintenance Work, there will be no power in a large swathe of Bangalore in the general Shivaji Nagar area from 10 am to 6pm.

Bangalore to Whitefield on Pushpulls

Though my office is in Electronic City, for a new project I had to visit our company's branch office in GRTechPark, Whitefield for 3 days. This building is next to ITPL. I had to take public transport on all 3 days to reach the office in the afternoons while the drop back home would be provided on the company cab as it would be late in the night.

Metro Ph II to HSR..why Monorail?

So the routes, at least the end points, are finally out from the DPR for PH II. I still dont understand what makes the DMRCL a better authority to develop these reports, no Idea of what traffic studies were done and what surveys were done..never heard of any..thought these are the basic inputs for putting out a plan report..
