07/04/08 17:03 - bangaloreanPetrol prices are soaring above the roof. We are also facing a huge problem with refuelling Petrol during these crunch times. Improvement in the public tranport is not going to be soon, i would alteast expect couple of years for the public transport to pull themselves up and provide some decent public transport. We have a grt responsibility to save fuel. As estimated there are around 1 lakh two wheelers in bangalore. If each vehicle consumes 1 lt of petrol each day then it amounts to total of 1 lakh litres of petrol. i.e. 1 lakhs * 60 = 60 lakhs/per day. While the use of the Kannada script (but not on number-plates) does certainly contribute to the propagation of the language and thereby the culture, the numerals do not serve any such purpose at all. The regular 1,2,3 can as well be read ondu, eradu, mooru, so on, without in any way diluting the purity of the language, but in many ways simplifying life, particularly for the non-Kannadiga's who then have only to grapple with the jalebi's, the prospect of which is less intimidating. person murali772's post | forum 18 Comments | Read More

I had the opportunity to drive down NH7 to the BIA last evening and again this morning. Some of the things that immediately struck me was that Yesterday, the taxis were driving at more reasonable speeds and why? At critical sections of the road there were these "interceptor" vehicles equipped with radar speed guns and were fining offenders on the spot. I think that this definitely puts the fear into the drivers and will behave? Good going Bangalore Police may you be empowered further :-) person Photoyogi's post | forum 24 Comments | Read More

Hi All I think this is the first post on mangalore forum. However let me start this with a good cause. The road near the KSRTC Junction in Bejai Mangalore is in such a pathetic condtion, its worst than the Ghat Section roads. Please make them proper so that at least the vehilces can move on them. person anusha_singh's post | forum 1 Comment | Read More |
