Meeting with Lokayukta Justice Hegde

Some of us went and met Lokayukta Justice Hegde today. A long, and very interesting meeting, I am not sure how much of what we heard we will manage to post here. Its one thing to hear stories of corruption (loose talk like X eats money, Y drinks duddu) at parties, and simply another to hear those from people (we heard from Up-Lokayukta and their PR Officer Mr Riaz as well) who deal with such cases and people on daily basis.

The road ahead ….. on roads

This is a followup to the road working group call, we (nithin, asj and myself) had a couple of weeks back. After that, I also talked to a contractor who has built roads (Pradeep). Plenty of transportation going on around here. One Bangalore public body that needs more attention on Praja is BWSSB. Of special interest to us should be their ambitious "Cauvery Water Supply Scheme Stage IV Phase - II to bring in 500 MLD Potable Water". I picked the title up from BWSSB's current projects page. Newspapers carry very little updates (I mean conslidated updates) on this project which is worth Rs 3383 crores. Receipt of bids was due on 26 September, wonder what happened.

For MNC employees, it doesn't get any easier to get their names on voter list. Forms can be filled at their office desks, and submit the filled/signed forms to VoteDeIndia booth that is setup right next to their Cafeterias.
