Compound wall crack due to neighbour' s borewell digging - issued resolved 03/02/10 07:38 - ahumanbean
Crack in the compound wall issue seems to be resolved, temporarily. Other RTI + Lok Ayuktha files, will have be be followed up in due course. Another huge grey area seems to be that very few citizens are aware of permissions that are / are not needed before a borewell can be sunk. The 'consultant's digging the borewell of course make all the rules up...! person ahumanbean's post | forum 2 Comments | Read More

Come 2011, and we will have our once in a decade census done. If the projections prove right (http://censusindia.gov.in/Census_Data_2001/Projected_Population/Projected_Population.pdf), then Karnataka would be pegged at ~ 5.94 crore people. person silkboard's post | forum 3 Comments | Read More

Railway Budget Disappointing for Karnataka 02/26/10 14:56 - Sanjeev
Rail Budget 2010-11 from the outset looks good for Karnataka, its good job done by Mamtha & K H Muniyappa as Window Dressing for Karnataka. PPP model is no finalised & will require Cabinet approval, so nothing will come in next 1-2 years on this. person Sanjeev's post | forum 4 Comments | Read More

A new DPR for monorail - when? 02/26/10 04:53 - n
Refer to the proceeds of this BMLTA meeting. Go to section 6/7 - there is no mention of Scomi/Geodesic. Why would IDD again prepare the DPR if Geodesic already submitted one? Different alignment? See meeting notes in full here: person n's post | forum 17 Comments | Read More

City, people, public - mingle on March 4 02/26/10 04:44 - silkboard
An event is one thing, and a tradition another. A monthly event gives everyone the chance to do some progressive experiments and thinking. Everyone as in, BMTC, involved organizations and the individuals who'd spread the word. Yes, just take the Bus, and get the rights to crib about what you didn't like, becuase you would be speaking from experience. And if you like the ride, tell the world that public transport is worth it. person silkboard's post | forum 9 Comments | Read More

Point out a Bangalore Lake to CAG - takes just 1 click 02/25/10 18:20 - silkboard
See this (http://praja.in/en/blog/silkboard/2010/02/14/cag-auditing-water-pollution-which-lakeriver-suggest) for background. CAG is conducting a study on the subject of Water Pollution. Let us recommend a lake from Bangalore so that CAG can analyze how well the inflow based and lake bed dumping related pollution is managed in our city. This form should help us send a consistent appeal to CAG. person silkboard's post | forum 9 Comments | Read More

As we see via the BMLTA meeting records (http://www.bmlta.org/sites/default/files/Proceedings_6th_Meeting_BMLTA.pdf), IDD (Mr V Madhu) seems to be batting for Commuter Rail. Let us plan the first meeting with him. We need more guys to join the project though. Don't care at this time whether it is possible or not. Just join in and raise the pitch on this issue, ashtay. person silkboard's post | forum 9 Comments | Read More

Branching off from "Commuter-rail-will-it-ever-materialize" thread as it got too long. The IDD seems to be moving in the direction of surveying for CRS (item 3, pp. 2). person n's post | forum 31 Comments | Read More
